YMCA of the Roses Early Learning Academy

OUR GOAL:

Pre-K Counts is a FREE state-sponsored program that is offered at the YMCA of the Roses Early Learning Academy in partnership with the School District of Lancaster. Pre-K Counts enrollment is based on a child’s needs and the family’s income. 

Our philosophy is to offer a nurturing environment where children learn, grow and build strong futures through fostering the development of a strong base for their social and academic futures.

HOURS:

Free Full-time enrollment form: 8:30am to 3:00pm

Preschool wrap-around care is available from: 7:00-8:30am and 3:00-5:30pm.

We accept ELRC state subsidy for our wrap-around care.

HOW TO APPLY:

Complete the application 2025-26 PA Pre-K Counts Application – English or 2025-26 PA Pre-K Counts Application – Spanish or and return it via email to Jenny Galloway at: [email protected] OR drop it off at the City Center Welcome Desk.

All children who will be 3 years of age on or before September 1, 2025 and reside in Lancaster City or Lancaster Township and surrounding districts are eligible to apply for  pre-kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year.

Please note that spaces are limited, and enrollment is based on need, not on a first come, first served basis.

MORE ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

• We are Keystone Stars Level Three (3) certified program.
• Our Pre-K curriculum incorporates the Y’s core values of
  caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
• In-person teaching by PA Level 1 or 2 Early Childhood certified teachers foster the social, educational and emotional development skills children need to be set up for success in kindergarten and beyond.
• Passionate staff who love teaching and caring for their students
• On-going professional staff training
• Streamlined communication and progress reports shared with parents regularly through:

  • Conferences with teacher
