The Y is proud to offer affordable Child Development through our Childcare programs; School Age Childcare, Infant and Toddler Care, Pre-K, and Summer Camps!

Our Child Development work, commonly known as childcare, is part of a long tradition of childcare at the YMCA that started in the 1960s.

School Age Childcare
The YMCA offers quality before and after school programs in elementary schools across York County. All programs are licensed by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and participate in Pennsylvania’s Keystone Stars Quality Assurance Program (STARS). Our curriculum is built based on the interest of the children and aligns with the PA Early Learning Standards. Full day care is available on scheduled school closures.

Toddler and Infant Care
We have a high quality early learning program available for children 6 weeks to Pre-K. Thanks to generous EITC donors, we’re able to offer financial assistance for this life-changing program!
Our early childhood program at our York Early Learning Center provides a safe and nurturing environment for young children. We…
- are licensed by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL),
- provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum that emphasizes learning through play.
- have programs that promote the development of physical, social, cognitive, and self-help skills.

Pre-K
We have Pre-K programs across both York and Lancaster Counties to meet the needs of our community’s young learners! Thanks to generous EITC donors, we’re able to offer financial assistance for these life-changing programs!

Summer Camps
Summer day camp provides youth with an opportunity to enjoy summer outdoors with friends. At YMCA camp, we focus on building a sense of achievement – trying new things, building relationships and a community where everyone belongs.
