Young Thinkers of York

Inspiring York's Next STEM Generation

Fun hands-on learning experiences for Pre-K - Grade 12

WHAT IS STEM?

STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEM is everywhere. STEM is what we do. STEM is how we live. STEM is global. STEM is YOU. STEM is hands-on learning that brings science to life. STEM’s core teaches and builds creativity, logic, problem-solving, critical thinking, curiosity, and time management. STEM makes engineers, scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Starting STEM at an early age provides a jump start for higher education learning. In this innovative world, STEM is no longer the future…it’s now!

WHY IS STEM IMPORTANT?

The demand for quality STEM workers is on the rise. The US is about to experience a workforce crisis with a shortage of 25 million STEM workers to fill vacant positions from retiring baby boomers. At Young Thinkers of York, we get our students excited again about learning and allow them to discover how they can change the world. Our after-school robotics and engineering programs are not only to mentor our future engineers and scientists, but to also prepare the next generation to become part of a workforce that can work together as a team, think creatively, and produce solutions to problems. Through these new experiences, our students of all ages will be able to expand their minds and follow their dreams to success.
